Meg's Mega Fundraising Challenge for Amnesty International

Hi Friends and Family!

In November I will be taking a trip to the States to participate in the New York City Marathon in 2011!!!

In doing so, I'm going to be raising much needed funds for Amnesty International to assist them in their stance against those facing injustice and abuse.

 I am on a mission to raise $10 000 to go toward the amazing work that Amnesty do! For those of you who do not know who Amnesty International are... in a nutshell they are all about Human Rights! Please check out their website:

I know times are tough, particularly this year with the devastation here in QLD and natural disasters further abroad, but knowing the difference that people united can make is a great encouragement.

I am asking my family, friends and the wider community to get on board and support this cause to ensure that we all have freedom, respect, dignity, justice, and equality.

Hey guys,

Well time is flying!!! Only just over 2 weeks until departure for New York.... Arrrgghhhh!!!

Initially I thought that training for a marathon and raising such a sum of money would be challenging but achievable, however as time flies by, the task seems more and more daunting.

 However, my  Fundraising is now complete WOO HOO!!! All that is left now is the 42km's to get through!!!!  I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated time, money, auction and raffle items!!! Everyone's generosity is very much appreciated!!

Training Updates:

Recenlty I completed the Gold Coast Half Marathon - longest distance to date!! I can tell you I was sore for a few days after, but it was awsome fun! I won't tell you the time it took me... I will admit it was snail's pace :)
